JOURNEY NEWS FROM 9th F

Hello!

Have you ever heard about eTwinning? Well, eTwinning is a digital platform which is part of the Erasmus+ programme, the European programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport. Its main objective is to create networks of active collaborative work (partnership projects) among European Union schools and other schools of eTwinning Plus like Jordan, Ukraine and Tunisia. eTwinning goes beyond the walls of the classroom and meets the world outside just using the Internet and ICT technology; it engages hundreds of thousands of teachers and students, thus becoming the biggest school network in the whole world! eTwinning is basically LEARNING, COLLABORATION, COMMUNITY, CITIZENSHIP, INNOVATION, DIVERSITY, COMMUNICATION, CREATIVITY, SHARING and FRIENDSHIP, which are very important principles in life for us. That’s why we’ve decided to join the eTwining community.

After discussing interesting topics for collaborative work, we joined the wonderful project team “FRIENDS ACROSS EUROPE”, assigned by the Norwegian teacher Jan Pål:

“This project has been created to help pupils connect with each other across borders. By doing this, they can learn about and from different cultures, discuss international questions and get first hand experiences on what it is to be a teenager in different cultures/countries. This way, we can both help and encourage our pupils to see the value of international teamwork, while at the same time they can experience that some borders are less clear than we might think. The communication between the students will be both tasks where they learn from each other and discuss important questions of today’s world, and friendly chatting to learn about each other’s daily life, interests and dreams.”

We have finally arrived at our destination! We love trains because they are eco-friendly and part of our local history and daily lives. Did you know that 2021 is “The European Year of Rail”?
